You are requested to submit recommendations from one teacher as well as one church leader on behalf of the student applicant. Both the teacher and the church leader should personally know the student applicant. Please explain to the teacher and church leader that your child is applying to the General Orientation Program (GOP) of the Institute for Korean Studies for Foreign Students, a program that will give your child the opportunity to live in Seoul for eleven months, with Western and Japanese students, studying Korean language, and learning about Korean culture and traditions.

Please ask the teacher to comment on the student candidate’s academic record, including academic strengths and weaknesses, as well as ability to relate to teachers and fellow students.

Please ask the church leader to comment on the student candidate’s spiritual life, spiritual maturity, and involvement with the church community.
