Mrs. Hak Ja Han Moon began her own public activities for global peace with a world speaking tour for the founding of WFWP. Her mission is both to lead peacemaking work and promote the central role of women in creating a just and peaceful society.

WFWP has championed the healing of historical hurts through its signature “Bridge of Peace”. Hundreds of thousands of people have crossed this symbolic bridge, becoming sisters and brothers—thus making a personal commitment to peace building. Rev. and Mrs. Moon are dedicated to addressing the world’s most unsolvable challenges—achieving peace in the Middle East and a peaceful reconciliation between North and South Korea.

The Middle East Peace Initiative exemplifies their approach to peace by calling on leaders of all fields to join in interreligious peace missions to the trouble spots of the world.

MEPI seeks not only inter-religious cooperation but also constructive relationships among religions, governments, and civil society. MEPI focuses on bringing the family of Abraham together, and then bringing that spirit of reconciliation to elected officials and other community leaders for their own peace-building efforts. Women’s Federation joined with MEPI bringing Israeli and Palestinian women together in Jerusalem, along with women from all parts of our world.

Rev. Moon proposes the creation of an international body of religious, civic and political leaders to supplement the peacekeeping work of the United Nations. He founded the Universal Peace Federation in 2005 to build a global network of religious, political, academic, media, and NGO leaders who can contribute to peace and human development.

UPF has national and regional Peace Councils, and its Global Peace Council includes distinguished leaders from six continents. Its International Leadership Conferences promote interreligious cooperation and principles of good governance. Among its innovative projects is a proposed Peace Force to mediate in the world’s trouble spots. UPF is a non-governmental organization with Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the UN.

Traveling some 81,000 miles in just 100 days Rev. and Mrs. Moon launched the Universal Peace Federation in 67 countries on six continents. It is active in 190 countries, with 110,000 “Ambassadors for Peace” who work for peace in their nations and internationally.  

Global Peace Festivals initiated in 2005, promote peace through the arts, sports, service, and education for all people as members of one global family under God, beyond race, religion, nationality and culture.
